Have you thought about the benefits of a French Immersion program? École Frère Antoine Catholic Elementary School proudly offers single-track French Immersion programming for students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. 

Develop fluency in both English and French while building a strong academic foundation and cultural awareness of the French language and culture.

Things to know: 

  • Kindergarten and Grade 1 are the two points of entry for French Immersion. 
  • Families wishing to register their child(ren) in French Immersion after Grade 1 should contact the school principal. Registration is considered on an individual basis.
  • 80-90% of instruction is in French
  • Subjects taught in English: Language Arts and Religion
  • Applications for registrations can only be done online

Q: Do I need to speak French for my child to enrol in a language program?
A: No, our language programs are designed for families who do not speak French or Spanish.English resources are available to assist your child’s learning journey.
 

Q: Will school communications be in English? 
A: Yes, all communications from the school and Edmonton Catholic Schools will be in English.
 

Q: Is transportation available?
A: Yellow bus service is available for eligible students.

What to Expect After Registration

Parents of new families will be asked to book a time to meet in March for a brief tour and presentation of documents prior to acceptance. 

After Spring Break, from April 6 to 9, the school will contact you to confirm your child's acceptance and send transportation forms.

Open Houses are your opportunity to visit schools, meet the staff, and explore the spaces where learning and community thrive. Tour classrooms, ask questions, and learn about the programs and opportunities available for your child.
